File submission period closed

09/09/2021

At the end of the application period, 124 requests for social housing were registered. It is three times the number of applications submitted under the previous project (41). These days, the evaluation of the files takes place, which will run until mid-October. The score of the files is performed by independent evaluators.

Information sessions about social housing

The information campaign on the social housing that we will provide within the project is in full swing. In the last days of May and the first of June, 400 information brochures and 800 flyers were distributed, of the latter, 400 are on project housing, and the other 400, on alternative housing resources in Cluj-Napoca.

The distribution of baby boxes has begun

The Pata 2.0 project team brought joy and a bit of hope for the first mothers who will benefit from a baby box, i.e. a set of objects needed for newborns. The activity is managed by the Department of Social Assistance and Medical (DASM) under the direction of the Cluj-Napoca Local Council, a partner in the project.

We prevent school dropout

A major component of the project Pata 2.0 is the prevention of school dropout among pupils from Pata-Rât communities. The activities under this objective are four and they are in full swing.

100% success rate in preventing school dropout

All four students who attended the tutoring or mentoring activities that we facilitated or offered within the project continued their studies at the high school. Two of them will attend good high schools in Cluj-Napoca, being the first pupils from Pata Rât to do this.

Sociologists' fieldwork has begun

At the end of July, the fieldwork of the research team of “Babeş-Bolyai” University (BBU) started, which deals with elaborating the methodology for resettlement and inclusion of people living in the marginalised urban area Pata Rât.

First workshop with the Vikings :)

Almost 20 experts involved in the project took part on Wednesday 17 June in a workshop held through videoconference by representatives of the Norwegian city of Bergen on good housing practices.
